Meet Emmie

It’s rare to find a business leader who can be both a top personal performer and a leading sales-team manager. Emmie Brown is one of those people. As a Senior Partner for Southwestern Consulting, Emmie co-leads the company’s largest organization with team members across the United States and Europe. As a sales psychology expert and executive-level sales and leadership coach, she personally empowers some of the most successful company leaders across numerous industries to develop processes, build great teams, and maximize overall performance.

Emmie is also President of Southwestern Training and Southwestern Speakers where she is responsible for developing strategic growth plans, coordinating business development, and leading the certification process for a premier group of authors, experts, thought leaders, and dynamic keynote speakers. As a speaker herself, Emmie has several dynamic keynotes to help motivate, strengthen and encourage audience members to take their performance to the next level.

Emmie began her impressive career with Southwestern more than two decades ago. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and joining the Southwestern Advantage college program, she spent nine years recruiting numerous top-ranking sales teams. During her time as a District Sales Manager, Emmie ran hundreds of group interviews, conducted more than a thousand one-on-one interviews for potential salespeople, and earned a spot on the coveted Wall of Greats for recruiting some of the most successful teams in company history.

Since joining Southwestern Consulting, Emmie has been one of the company’s top salespeople, coaches, trainers, and speakers. A practitioner of what she teaches, Emmie is an ultra-performer and is consistently in the top 1% in personal sales production. Her success led her to spend four years on a national tour, training sales organizations around the country. She conducted 550 workshops and spoke at seminars in 11 different markets across the United States.

After conducting one-on-one interviews with close to 1,000 business leaders across the globe, Emmie has learned extensively about what creates breakdowns in communication, why salespeople don’t make the sale, and the reasons organizations don’t reach their potential. Emmie has used this insight to develop and simplify processes for her clients, making her an expert in systems to manage and lead teams.

Wherever Emmie goes, she’s a trailblazer. From being one of only a few women in a sales leadership team predominantly including men to being the first person in Southwestern Consulting to have small children, she has navigated uncertainty with confidence and has paved pathways for others to follow. She’s learned the importance of showing yourself grace and reshaping your perspective in seasons of change.

In addition to her real-world experience, Emmie has a psychology degree, giving her unique insights that help her clients more effectively communicate their point of view, be more persuasive in selling, and motivate their team to action. Emmie permanently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, Dave, two sons, Dawson and Dylan, and daughter, Cadence.
