As as professional Sales and Leadership Coach for Southwestern Consulting, Matt is a sales ninja. He has over 20 years of sales success, consistently producing at a high level in various selling environments. In direct sales, he sold books door-to-door with the Southwestern Company for multiple summers as a college student and also sold investment management services to ultra-high net worth individuals with Goldman Sachs. In selling to businesses, he sold insurance to mom-and-pop businesses and also sold software to billion-dollar banks and large public school districts.  

In addition to collecting sales awards and trophies, Matt has a passion for helping others practice happiness and experience success. He thoroughly enjoys speaking about the habits of top producers and sharing strategies for living your best life. He has written a book about his lessons learned selling books door-to-door and wants to evangelize the Southwestern principles to all people he meets. 

Believing that life is an adventure, Matt has a goal to run a marathon on every continent. Prior races include a marathon in the Swiss Alps (featuring over 7,000 feet of vertical gain) and recently running a personal record in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (7:16 mile pace for 26.2 miles). Matt loves to travel the world. He has been scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, bungee jumped in New Zealand from the highest suspension bridge in the world, and swam with sharks in Tahiti. 

Matt lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his amazing wife Laura (an adolescent psychologist) and two sons, Jack and Miles. In his free time, he enjoys singing and playing guitar in an acoustic rock band, cheering on his beloved Tar Heels, and spending time outdoors with his family. Matt is active in his community, serving as the Chair of the Missions/Outreach Committee for his church, serving on the Board of Hearts and Hands for Haiti, and actively leading workouts with F3, a men’s faith-based athletic organization. Matt earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MBA from the University of Virginia.
