About Eli Danson
Eli Danson graduated from Carleton College with a major in chemistry and concentration in biochemistry. After his time at Carleton, Eli graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Arts in exercise physiology.
Eli has been involved in a wide array of activities through his walks of life. In high school, Eli was the orchestra concert master, drum major for the band, varsity captain for the swim team, and president of his synagogue’s youth group. In college, Eli was the varsity captain for the swim team, awarded the Heart of the Chemistry Department award, president of the bowling club, and top radio DJ playing Broadway musicals and 90s East Coast hip hop. In graduate school, Eli won the top Teachers Assistant Award as well as the top thesis and research awards looking at T-cell response to exercise in breast and prostate cancer patients.
For the past eight years, Eli coached swimming at the high school, club, and NCAA Division I levels. During graduate school, Eli coached at Carrboro High School, coaching the team to back-to-back state runner-up finishes and multiple state records. Eli then coached at North Carolina Aquatic Club (NCAC), helping the team rise from 227th to 24th in the club national rankings in five seasons. At NCAC, Eli coached multiple top-ranked age group swimmers, high school record holders, the number one-ranked recruit in the 2022 class, and five Olympic trial qualifiers. Eli’s last two years as a swim coach were at the University of Pennsylvania, where he recruited the highest-ranked men’s and women’s classes in team history and coached a swimmer onto the 2024 Paris Olympic team.
Eli’s passion for coaching originates from the impact he saw his father make on all ages as rabbi. His work with students to help them develop the necessary skills to be confident in themselves so that they can be positive contributors in their communities resonated with Eli and sparked his desire to coach all ages.
Now, Eli’s passion is helping young adults set, meet, and exceed their own expectation. He relishes discussing goals with students and the power they have in helping them achieve what they once thought was impossible. Eli loves being a part in supporting the next generation that is going to make the world a better place. He loves to meet students and their families and begin an amazing journey of growth together.
Eli Danson is from Wausau, Wisconsin and a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and owner. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, football, rugby, violin, tap dancing, bowling, and video games. Eli lives in Philadelphia with his seven-year-old rescue Chihuahua, Miko.
What is Student Coaching?
The Student Coaching program pairs students (ages 13-21) with a highly-trained student coach to hone in on their unique growth areas and equip them with the real-world skills they need to succeed, both inside the classroom and beyond. In addition to 1:1 coaching calls, they work together through training modules, assessments, videos, and more as part of our Student’s Edge curriculum. Parents are kept appraised of progress milestones with frequent progress reports.
