About Christopher Lowe
Christopher Lowe graduated from Saint Elizabeth University with a bachelor’s in psychology as a non-traditional student at night while working full-time. Christopher initially attended Elizabethtown College to study music therapy but decided to work full time while pursuing his degree in the evenings. He went on to receive a master’s degree in counseling at Rider University in New Jersey and is a certified K-12 school counselor.
In high school, Christopher achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and still volunteers with scouting organizations in his community. Throughout high school and college, he performed regularly as a jazz and classical trumpet player, singing in choirs, and acting in musical theatre productions.
He is one of the founders of a tutor/mentor program called Teens in Elizabethtown for college students to volunteer with youths in the community. During graduate school at Rider University, Christopher created pet therapy and massage and art therapy events for students and staff to promote awareness of the campus counseling center and to reduce stigma with mental health.
Professionally, Christopher has spent most of his professional life working with educators in K-12 schools, universities, and students in some capacity. He is a business owner, has led sales organizations as a head of sales, has been a top producing sales professional, and won multiple awards over the course of his 20-year career.
Christopher’s purpose has always been to positively impact people’s lives. He enjoys being able to use his professional training and life experiences to aid in his student coaching practice and loves being able to help students explore their purpose, goals, and vision to shape the life they are destined to create.
Christopher grew up in Cranford, New Jersey a small town outside New York City. He lived out in San Diego, California for many years but has returned to the East Coast and lives in Wilmington, North Carolina near the beach. Christopher takes pride in his role as a father to two sons and boxer pup named Jersey Girl (after the Bruce Springsteen song). He loves to watch his sons’ sporting events and music performances. When he’s not trying to see as much live music as possible, Christopher loves to eat great food, spend time on the water in his kayak, and visit as many national parks as possible.
Something interesting about Christopher is that he went to an open casting call for the “New Mickey Mouse Club” at Radio City Music Hall as a kid in the 80s. Although he didn’t get a role, he made it through several rounds of auditions despite neither having an agent nor headshots and sporting a black eye from an incident on the school playground a day prior.
One of his favorite quotes is from Gary Vaynerchuk:
“Don’t waste energy… focus on what you control, not what you wish you controlled.”
What is Student Coaching?
The Student Coaching program pairs students (ages 13-21) with a highly-trained student coach to hone in on their unique growth areas and equip them with the real-world skills they need to succeed, both inside the classroom and beyond. In addition to 1:1 coaching calls, they work together through training modules, assessments, videos, and more as part of our Student’s Edge curriculum. Parents are kept appraised of progress milestones with frequent progress reports.
